Purpose of Filtration: Remove visual contaminant from polymer coating
Application: The company manufactures a specialty polymer used for coating of hardwood floors and tiles. Visual clarity is very important for the aesthetics of the end product. Polymer is filtered to maintain the visual clarity. Polyester bags are used due to the temperature being elevated to 200°F during the process. Turbidity of the final product is visually checked for clarity. If the product is not clear enough, it is re-filtered prior to packaging. Filtration is only done prior to final packaging.
